GLEP Endorses Lana Theis in Brighton House Race
Bi-partisan education advocacy group makes early endorsements; others to follow
Lansing, MI – The Great Lakes Education Project (GLEP) today announced the endorsement of Lana Theis (R-Brighton) in her campaign for the 42ndState House district. The 42ndDistrict includes the city of Brighton and the townships of Brighton, Genoa, Green Oak, Hamburg and Putnam in Livingston County.
“Lana Theis is a very strong candidate who believes government should be more accountable, efficient and responsive,” said Gary Naeyaert, GLEP Executive Director. “This primary provides many choices, and we believe when voters examine her background and get to know Lana they will vote to send her to Lansing,” Naeyaert continued.
GLEP’s endorsement process includes an examination of past voting records, personal interviews and results from the organization’s extensive candidate questionnaire.
“We’re confident Lana Theis will be a forceful advocate for expanding quality choices in education while demanding transparency and high standards,” said Beth DeShone, GLEP Advocacy Director. “We are pleased to endorse and support her campaign,” DeShone concluded.
GLEP announced early endorsements in eight key 2014 elections for the State Senate and State House of Representatives today, and will make additional endorsements in the weeks ahead.
