Rep. Theis elected to 2017-18 House leadership position, Brighton lawmaker will serve as an assistant majority floor leader

State Rep. Lana Theis was today elected to serve as an assistant majority floor leader for the 2017-2018 legislative session of the Michigan House of Representatives.

“It’s a great honor to be selected by my colleagues to serve as a member of the House leadership team next session,” said Rep. Theis, R-Brighton. “I look forward to continuing Michigan’s success that we saw last term.”

The assistant majority floor leader assists the majority floor leader in directing activities on the House floor.

First elected in 2014, Rep. Theis serves as the vice chair of the Committee on Insurance. She is also a member of the Committees on Financial Services, Local Government, and Oversight and Ethics.
